Located in the city centre, this is a busy, lively, spacious, air-conditioned venue. The artwork in this restaurant is inspired by Guglielmo Marconi (1874-1937) who opened the world's first "wireless" radio factory in Hall Street in 1898, employing around 50 people. For this reason Chelmsford is credited as being the birthplace of radio. On June 15, 1920 the factory was the location of the first official publicised sound broadcast in the UK, featuring Dame Nellie Melba using two 450 feet radio broadcasting masts
